To be honest, I kind of expected Switzerland to be more modern than Vienna and it just isn’t.
The truth is, they were early. But Vienna caught up.
Switzerland had self checkout registers at the supermarket 6 years ago, Austria didn’t. Well, now they both have them and the ones in Austria are more modern.
Same with ID Austria vs Swiss ID. The ID Austria with A-trust is the better and more secure system for online signature and login. Plus it’s more widely supported.
And the list goes on. They way they send bulk of administrative letters here, the way the guy at the Meldeamt had to print out my Immatrikulationsbestätigung I sent him just to then scan it.
Nevermind, I like it here. All of that just shows that being last isn’t always a bad thing 🙂
